The Emirates A380 touched down in Bahrain International Airport last night for one-off services, said the UAE airline in a statement this weekend for one-off services, said the UAE airline in a statement.

The special A380 flights were at full capacity, supporting the sizable traffic over the Eid Al Fitr holiday period from both countries, it stated.

Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Divisional Senior Vice- President, Commercial Operations Centre, Emirates Airline, said, "Emirates is currently operating a one-off ad-hoc Airbus A380 services to Bahrain due to significant demand for air travel during the Eid holiday period."

"Although we have no immediate plans to operate an A380 on those routes in the near future, we remain committed to providing customers in Bahrain with seamless connectivity to the Far East, North America, Europe and the Middle East through our Dubai hub," noted Al Mualla.

In its first seven months of operations for 2015, Emirates carried over 225,000 passengers to and from Bahrain, and serves the destination with 28 weekly services.

Welcoming the jumbo flight, Mohamed Khalil, the chief commercial officer of Bahrain Airport Company, said, "The arrival of the aircraft for the third time further strengthens the relationship between Bahrain International Airport and Emirates."
